they are 100% accurate at partitioning the population be that test .... like ALL TESTS, they measure what they measure,

Standard IQ tests measure "standard IQ" .... it is not meaningless, but was never meant to be a panacea.

THEY ARE highly correlated with other standardized tests: all the military tests, all the college tests.

they do NOT measure .... anything else.

they dont measure art, music, height, weight, athletic, smell, morals.

They "perfectly" measure what they TEST.

WE CAN INFER ... from them .....

Someone who is 2 sd below 100 are ... not fit to stand trial.

Have trouble making change and interacting with our society.

this isnt good or bad, but a reality.

(mhmmm sure fine, that wolfling kid who was raised by bears wont score well. so what. no test can test EVERYTHING, nor is anything PERFECT)

BUT ....half the population struggles with the CONCEPT of FACTS and LOGIC. Half the population can not determine if something is FALSE. Half the population ... well ... they would be the last person that you would hire.

Back in the 90s, the last time unemployment was so low, it was PAINFUL to go into a fast food place. the cashiers were unable to do basic tasks. this was a problem for ALL companies ... everyone who could COUNT already had a better job. etc .

Precise ... that is the wrong word.

I dont need anything to be precise.

BUT ... we used to give the people who would answer our phones to take pizza orders ... an arithmetic test. Could they add up the bill properly. we would hire the ones that could do better than 50/50 .....and the rest .... shudder
