While reading The Unspeakable Mind, I find myself thinking about THIS.
Esp in the shithole of america. You get assaulted when you are 4, block it out, have a normal life, and BOOM, one day you get trigger, and the world, literally ENDS. Her descriptions of anecdotal patient, first visit and the second visit a week later, sigh, my bartender asked me if I was OK????
So you go to get help, fall apart, lose your job and family when you need them the most, lose your insurance, can't get help anymore, end up an addict living on the street.
And HALF of our population says "they should just get a job".
THAT anyone still doubts the existence of PTSD????
